Completing a marathon is a marvelous life-achievement. It can even be argued that it is one of the few major life-achievements still accessible to the "ordinary person". Without lots of time and money, one cannot mount a circum-polar expedition, sail the Atlantic, or scale Everest. But we CAN all run a marathon, with proper training and preparation. And it is something we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Like the less-accessible challenges, the marathon is one that should not be undertaken lightly. It is a 4-month, 6-month (or more) commitment that pays dividends in spades!

One of the benefits of running in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is the availability of our online Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5k training schedules provided by Running Room! These regularly updated training schedules are designed to help carry you to the finish line on October 19! Training schedules are provided for every level of runner — whether you're a seasoned marathoner or training for your first 5k.
