Olivia Chow confirmed to run Scotia Toronto Waterfront 5K
RUN with her; put a PLEDGE on her for Yee Hong Foundation; or come out and CHEER her on, on Sunday September 28th!
"I am looking forward to running the 5K portion of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon for many different reasons. Since my teen years, fitness has been an important part of my life. In addition to the benefits to physical health, keeping active contributes to enhanced mental and emotional well-being. I am delighted that the run is being hosted in Toronto, as it is an opportunity to showcase our city's cultural diversity, hospitality and beautiful waterfront.
"I am running to raise funds for Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation because our seniors deserve the superb care which this agency provides. I have witnessed first-hand the smiles on the faces of seniors who are being served by Yee Hong. Sporting events are a fun way to raise money, and Scotia Toronto Waterfront is one of the best in Canada and the world — the community mobilizes around an issue, the issue gains media attention, and people get fit while raising money. Please join me on the 28th at the Scotia Toronto Waterfront 5K; your encouragement will help me finish! And any pledges you can put on me will go to a wonderful cause!"
